"Exile" by R.A. Salvatore is a wonderful story of taking off into the great unknown for Drizzt. He has struck out from Menzoberranzan with no clear destination or place to call home.
The balance of this story is almost entirely set in The Underdark, the mythic subterranean homeland of not just the dark elves, such as Drizzt, but also fun-filled people like the mind flayers, also pictured on this cover. They hug you with their faces and suck your brains. It's often an intense book is what I'm saying. Drizzt discovers that freedom and principles often require profound sacrifices in safety and comfort.
