Micro Mention "Ready Player Two"

Ernest Cline

I really wanted to love “Ready Player Two” by Ernest Cline, and I did legitimately like the ending a lot. But much like playing as player two back in the day, it doesn’t quite have the same magic as one.

With a bit of time and distance from this novel, my sentiment regarding this story has only hardened after I wrote my full review here. Despite having read it more recently, I couldn't as quickly describe the plot of this novel as opposed to "Ready Player One." There are memorable moments I can still recall, but overall the feeling I have with this kind of story is: that lightning rarely strikes twice.
